Shirley Jean Jennings, age 95, of Shelton entered into rest on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Gardner Heights Health Care Center. She was the devoted wife of 64 years to the late Robert Jennings.
Shirley was born in Bridgeport on July 16, 1930, daughter of the late Arthur and Jean (Williamson) Blake and was a Shelton resident for most of her life. She was a longtime active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the church choir and altar guild for many years. Shirley was an active gardener and was a founding member of the Old Ripton Gardening Club. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.
Shirley was the beloved mother of Robert Jennings and his wife Vickie, Richard Jennings and Randy Jennings, Sr. and his wife Janet, sister of Eileen Savulski, loving grandmother of Jennifer Jennings, Michael Jennings, Kari Grant, Randy Jennings, Jr. and Jessica Jennings and great grandmother of Samuel Grant and Theodore Jennings. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was predeceased by two brothers, James and Donald Blake and a sister Patty Rozelle.
Friends may call on Friday April 10, 2026 friends may call from 9:30 am to 10:30 AM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am for her funeral service at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 25 Church St. Shelton. Her burial will follow at Lawn Cemetery.
