Brigitte “Red” Crowe (77), a vibrant and loving woman who brought warmth and joy to everyone she met, passed away peacefully, in her sleep at home on April 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, connection, and deep love for her family and friends.
Brigitte was born on June 8, 1948 in Derby, CT, the daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude Decker.
Brigitte was known for her outgoing spirit and her genuine love of people. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel like an old friend. She cherished time spent dancing with friends, going on cruises, and creating lasting memories on family vacations. Her energy and zest for life were truly contagious.
Family was at the heart of everything Brigitte did. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Jen Conley and her husband Steve, of Manchester, CT and her son, Jon Crowe and his wife Debra, of Seymour CT. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Katelyn and Rebecca Crowe, and Christopher and Brynn Conley. She is also survived by her loving brother, Paul Decker, of Florida.
She found immense joy in playing with her grandchildren when they were young and treasured watching them grow into remarkable teenagers who will immensely miss her and her silly, made up games. She loved supporting her grandkids while they played soccer and basketball, and competed in swim meets and cheer competitions. She loved nothing more than to hear all about the exciting things happening in her grandkid’s lives and couldn’t wait to share with her friends.
Brigitte shared a remarkable love story with her late husband, Bill, who she mourned the loss of just four months ago. They were high school sweethearts and lifelong best friends, building a marriage that truly showed what a deep, lasting partnership looks like over the years. Their bond was one of love, laughter, and unwavering support—a relationship that served as an example to all who knew them. Though her heart carried these losses, she continued to live with strength, grace, and love for those around her.
A woman who believed in staying active and engaged, Brigitte dedicated her time volunteering at My Sister’s Place in Ansonia and was an active member of her local senior center, often attending Zumba and other exercise classes. She also was an advocate for those less fortunate and several times per year she and a small team of her friends would deliver home cooked meals for the residents at the Spooner House in Shelton. She built countless friendships through her kindness, warmth, and willingness to always lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
Brigitte will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her love of life, and the way she made everyone feel seen and valued. She leaves behind many dear friends and family members who will miss her deeply and carry her memory in their hearts forever.
There will be no formal services, however a celebration of life and love to honor Brigitte and Bill’s wonderful time together will be planned this summer. Donations can be made in Brigitte’s name to the Spooner House in Shelton or to My Sister’s Place in Ansonia. Her arrangements are entrusted to the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Please share a memory by going to www.hullfh.com
