SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from April 6, 2026 through April 12, 2026.

Seymour police received 211 calls for service and made five arrests.

APRIL 6, 2026

7:33 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Bank Street and Old Drive.

9:58 a.m. The animal control officer notified police about an incident where eight abandoned kittens were found on Moss Avenue.

1:46 p.m. A Colony Street Extension resident told police a skinny white male wearing a brown jacket attempted to break into her house/garage. The resident said when the man saw her, he fled on foot toward Ansonia.

2:27 p.m. Police charged a 39-year-old Seymour man failure to drive in the proper lane and evading responsibility.

5:43 p.m. A South Main Street resident reported a case of credit card fraud to police.

APRIL 7, 2026

10:30 a.m. A Skokorat Street resident told police his state EBT card was hacked.

12:04 p.m. A caller told police a landscape truck took down some wires on Jacko Drive. Frontier was notified to remove the wires.

2:49 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident at Maple Street and Old Ansonia Road.

4:46 p.m. A Molsick Road resident told police two juveniles were riding quads in the neighborhood without parental supervision.

APRIL 8, 2026  

5:32 a.m. Police charged a 22-year-old Seymour man with second-degree failure to appear.

6:54 a.m. Police charged a 35-year-old Seymour woman with criminal violation of a restraining order, second-degree harassment and threatening.

11:10 a.m. A Smith Street resident told police she believes her neighbor destroyed her lawn chairs.

3:09 p.m. A Meadow Street resident told police he was scammed out of $2,950.

10:16 p.m. A Moss Avenue resident told police someone fraudulently opened accounts in his name.

APRIL 9, 2026

4:34 a.m. A Chamberlin Road resident told police someone broke into his house and stole his Methadone.

8:12 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Bunting Road.

4:30 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident at Cedar Street and Derby Avenue.

6:35 p.m. Police were called to the Seymour Public Library on Church Street for an alarm sounding. An officer said the custodian set the alarm off by accident and there were no issues.

APRIL 10, 2026

2:35 p.m. A caller told police someone was driving erratically on Maple Street.

3:26 p.m. A caller reported a road rage incident involving a black sedan. An officer located the vehicle on New Street, spoke to the parties involved and said there were no further issues.

4:32 p.m. Police issued a misdemeanor to a driver on Maple Street.

11:43 p.m. A caller told police someone was playing loud music in the area of Swan Avenue and Clifton Street. An officer advised the resident to turn the music down.  

APRIL 11, 2026

11:16 a.m. An employee from Stop & Shop on Franklin Street reported a shoplifting incident.

2:34 p.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from an individual who said someone stole a construction sign on West Church Street.

4:30 p.m. A caller told police someone in a gray Honda was driving erratically on Old Ansonia Road. Police said the car was gone upon their arrival.

8:34 p.m. An Osprey Drive resident told police his neighbor continues to come onto his property and screams politically driven insults. An officer spoke with both parties.

APRIL 12, 2026

2:39 a.m. Police charged Bryon Morrison, 33, of Waterbury, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs on Washington Avenue.

8:53 a.m. Police issued a written warning to a driver on Bridle Path Lane.  

6:23 p.m. A Sanford Street resident told police someone was playing drums loudly in the area. Police said the noise was not unreasonable.
