ANSONIA: Hugh Michael Goggins, age 71, entered eternal rest on March 6, 2026, in the comfort of his home in Largo, Florida.
Born in New Haven on November 24, 1954, he was the son of the late James E. Goggins and Evelyn (Miller) Goggins. Hugh attended Ansonia Public Schools, graduating from Ansonia High School in 1972. He was a gifted athlete and in his earlier years he participated in Ansonia Pop Warner and Little League baseball. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. Hugh was employed by the Bayside V.A. Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
Hugh leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Arri Weeks of New York City, brothers, Jim Goggins (Liz) of Ansonia and David Goggins (Cheryl) of Ansonia, nieces, Eve Goggins Null (Chris), and Jessica Goggins (Dan), nephew, Sean Goggins, great-nephew, Joseph Null, and special cousin, Greg Miller of Texas.
All are invited to attend his graveside funeral service on Thursday April 30, 2026, at 11:00 am, by meeting directly at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery, 219 New Haven Avenue in Derby.
