APRIL 13, 2026
11:15 a.m. An employee of a gas station on New Haven Road (Route 67) told police someone bought $51 worth of gas and did not pay for it.
11:19 a.m. A caller told police two juveniles were riding a lawn mower in the middle of the road on Washington Avenue. Police said the juveniles were gone upon their arrival.
6:20 p.m. A caller told police she had been receiving threatening messages and letters from someone in another town and was concerned for her safety.
8:15 p.m. A caller told police a woman was walking toward Woodbridge and was concerned for her safety. An officer spoke with the woman, who said she walks there daily and would walk on the other side of the guardrail.
APRIL 14, 2026
11:31 a.m. A Marie Drive resident reported a case of bank fraud to police.
4:42 p.m. A resident told police she has been receiving unwanted emails that have become more graphic.
11:13 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Roosevelt Drive. No injuries were reported.
11:54 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident near Bungay and Canfield roads.
APRIL 15, 2026
12:50 p.m. Police assisted a driver whose car became disabled on Roosevelt Drive.
1:15 p.m. An employee with Newport Healthcare Academy on Roosevelt Drive told police a 17-year-old female patient left the facility, and she could not be located. The K9 officer checked the area, and the patient was later located in her room.
6:01 p.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from an individual who said his car was vandalized with paint.
9:37 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Colony Street for a medical emergency.
APRIL 16, 2026
1:22 a.m. Police were called to Walgreens on Bank Street for a report of an alarm sounding in the bathroom and hallway. An officer checked the store and said it was secure.
5:02 a.m. A caller told police a group of girls were on the side of the road near Wakeley and Main streets, yelling obscenities. Police said the girls were gone upon their arrival.
7:34 a.m. Police picked up a chocolate labrador roaming in the area of Knorr Avenue and West Church Street and notified the animal control officer.
9:50 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Bunting Road, between Eleanor and Edward roads.
APRIL 17, 2026
4;12 a.m. Multiple callers from Pearl Street told police someone drove their car into a shipping container and the horn was sounding for more than an hour, waking up the neighbors. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival and could not locate a shipping container.
8:37 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Old Ansonia Road. No motor vehicle violations were observed.
1:51 p.m. A caller told police someone riding a motorcycle was not wearing a helmet.
4:04 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Beach Street for a medical emergency.
11:03 p.m. A Third Avenue resident told police they saw smoke coming from a tent in a nearby backyard. Police said there was a barbecue in session.
APRIL 18, 2026
3:32 a.m. A large tree was reported to have fallen across the road on Haddad Road. Police contacted public works to clear the tree from the road.
8:31 a.m. A caller told police his car was struck while at the McDonald’s drive-thru on Bank Street.
12:41 p.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from a resident about a rabid animal on Deer Run Drive. Police said the animal was gone upon their arrival.
4:54 p.m. An Osprey Drive resident told police he received a harassing message from his neighbor.
8:19 p.m. A caller told police there was a loose dog roaming in the area of Clinton and Rimmon roads. The animal control officer was notified. Police said the dog was very aggressive and it took four officers to get control of the dog. Click here for more information about the incident.
APRIL 19, 2026
5:15 p.m. Police charged Brandon Leach, 41, of New Haven, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs. No location was noted for the arrest.
6:10 p.m. A caller told police a man was passed out behind the wheel of his car near the stop sign in the AutoZone plaza on First Street. Police said the car was gone upon their arrival.
6:30 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Fountain Lake Road. No injuries were reported.
9:06 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Brothers Court to assist with a medical emergency.
APRIL 20, 2026
1:03 a.m. A patrol officer checked on a vehicle that was idling in the far corner lot of the Housatonic House Restaurant on Roosevelt Drive. The driver told police he was lost and was on his way to Stamford.
7:43 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Mountain Road.
7:49 a.m. Police were called to Davis Road for a report of suspicious activity.
8:05 a.m. A caller told police he found a license plate in the road on Washington Avenue.
