Jennifer Marie Caron Bessette, 45, of Oxford, Connecticut, a beloved daughter, devoted wife, mother, and friend, and truly a gift from God, peacefully passed away on April 25, 2026 after an eight-year courageous battle with cancer.

Jen was born on December 6th, 1980, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, to Gerald and Karen Caron. She graduated from Oakmont Regional High School in 2000 and went on to earn her Registered Nursing degree from Saint Vincent’s College in Bridgeport, CT. Following graduation, Jen began a career that perfectly reflected her compassionate heart, working as a postpartum maternity nurse at Greenwich Hospital, where she cared for countless mothers and newborns with warmth and dedication.

On September 27, 2008, Jen married Tyler Bessette in Westminster, Massachusetts. Together they built a beautiful life in Oxford, CT and were blessed with three wonderful sons, Jaymeson, 16, Jacoby, 14 and Jackson, 9.

Jen touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was known for her kindness, generosity, contagious laugh, and radiant smile that could light up any room. She was an active member of her church and found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life— her boys, gardening, art, birdwatching, her cat Bella, cooking for friends and family, and Disney World. Jen loved being active and was an avid runner who proudly completed three half marathons. She cherished hosting gatherings filled with laughter, food, and the people she loved most.

Above all, Jen loved deeply and wholeheartedly. Her family and friendships meant everything to her, and the memories she created with those around her will be treasured forever.

Jen leaves behind her family that loved her deeply. She is survived by her loving husband, Tyler; her beloved three sons, Jaymeson, Jacoby, and Jackson; her parents, Gerry and Karen Caron; her in-laws, Armand and Judie Bessette; her sister, Jessica; her brother-in-law, Matthew; her nephews, Mason, Isaac, and Zachary; her cousin, Dan Caron; his wife, Jennifer Lopez; their child, Avery, her goddaughter Emerson; 8, wonderful aunts and uncles; many beloved cousins, extended family, her devoted friends and her dearest family friends including the Utecht family — Shannon, David, Tennyson, Huxley, Faraday, Drexler, Kepler and the Leonard family — Brooke, Cory, Corinne, Carleigh, and Brody.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Paul Banahan, Albatine Banahan; Gerard Caron; Doris Caron and her uncle Kenneth Fluet.

Jen’s legacy of love, strength, and beautiful spirit will live on in all who knew and loved her. Family and friends may call on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.  A Mass of Christian Burial (MEETING DIRECTLY AT CHURCH) will be celebrated on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford, CT.  Private interment will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour, CT .  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the METAvivor Metastatic Breast Cancer Research, Support & Advocacy in Jen’s honor, www.metavivor.org.   Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
