Roland Thomas Stafford, age 74, passed away peacefully on April 22nd in his home following a brief battle with cancer. Roland resided in Shelton with his brother Richard and sister Patricia. He was predeceased by his father Robert W. Stafford, mother Lucille Stafford (Tremblay), and sister Edith Gutowski. Roland was born in Vermont and grew up in Connecticut. He lived for many years in Seymour and returned to the family home in Shelton in 2020.
Left to mourn are his brothers: Paul (Carol), Robert (Margaret), David (Nanette) and Richard. Sisters: Alice (Lynda), Patricia, Lynette (John) and Janet (Rick). Left to mourn are his last surviving Aunt: Gracia Gagnon of Massachusetts, countless cousins, nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
Roland was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and was a true Huskies Fan. He was the favorite Uncle of all the youngsters who called him Uncle Ro-Ro. He had a kind heart and was known to quietly give many of the kids some cash when they saw him at Mom’s house. He always had a dog and especially loved Ginger.
Roland was a hardworking man who worked in building construction and was known in the union as an expert detailed taper. His cancer treatments were provided in a building that Roland helped to build years earlier.

A memorial Mass for Roland will be held on May 16th at 10am at St. Joseph Church, 420 Coram Ave in Shelton, followed by a burial at Riverside Cemetery, 330 River Road, Shelton.
