Andre Joseph Genest, age 58, beloved husband of Millie E. Fanning Genest of Ansonia, died peacefully on April 28, 2026 at Griffin Hospital with his family by his side.
Born in Danbury, CT on February 12, 1968, he was the son of Marcel (Maryann) Genest of NY and the late Susan Elizabeth Jabery. Mr. Genest was raised in Ridgefield and the great er Norwalk area but resided in Stratford & Norwich before moving to Ansonia 6 years ago.
He worked as a self-employed contractor, performing many duties and jobs, but was mostly known for his reliable courier services.
He was skilled buyer/seller/collector of all types of antiques and enjoyed BINGO games at the Foxwood Casino where he made many friendships.
A lover of all animals, he was especially connected to his two Doberman companions, “King” & “Rocky”. He will be long remembered for his special love for his family and friends.
In addition to his father and beloved spouse of 20 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Andrea Genest of New Haven and Andre Joseph Genest, Jr. of New Haven; a sister, Elizabeth Krieg of Norwalk; brothers, John Taburas of NJ, Peter (Rose) Taburas of NJ, Lloyd Coffey of WA, and Daniel Coffey of Norwalk; cherished grandchildren, Kylie Genest, Carmine Wilson, Carlina Pereira and Tyrus Gamble; great-granddaughter, Milani Shabazz; as well as several nieces and nephews.
