SHELTON — The Derby-Shelton Rotary Club invites the community to come together for a meaningful and delicious way to give back at its upcoming “Monday Matters” Fundraiser benefiting the annual Flags for Heroes program.

The fundraiser will take place on Monday, May 4th, at Fire Engine Pizza Co., 768 Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton, CT, from 11:30 AM through midnight. Supporters can enjoy lunch or dinner—dine-in or take-out—and 20% of all eligible sales will be donated to the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club to support the Flags for Heroes initiative. (Please note: Grubhub and DoorDash orders are excluded.)

Families are encouraged to make reservations in advance to help with seating, although reservations are not required.

Families are especially encouraged to attend between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM, when a Shelton fire truck will be on-site for children to explore, along with free fire hats being distributed—making it a fun and educational experience for all ages.

The Flags for Heroes program is a powerful community tribute honoring veterans, active military, first responders, healthcare workers, educators, and everyday heroes who make a difference in our lives. Funds raised through this event will directly support the continued growth and impact of the program, including the display of American flags across Derby and Shelton during the 2026 season.

“This fundraiser is a great opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a great meal, and support a meaningful cause,” said a representative of the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club. “Every meal purchased helps us honor local heroes and give back to those who serve and strengthen our community.”

Join us, bring your family and friends, and help make a difference—because Monday Matters.
