SEYMOUR — Residents are reminded that the second referendum on the proposed school and town budgets is scheduled for 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday (May 5) at the Seymour Community Center, 20 Pine St.

The budgets were brought back to the Seymour Board of Finance, whose members voted to trim $456,018 from the proposed spending plans. Click here for The Valley Indy story.
The budgets going to voters Tuesday is about $70.3 million.
It includes an allocation of $42.7 million for Seymour Public Schools, and $27.5 million for town government, according to previous Valley Indy reporting.
The mill rate is proposed to go from 27.72 to 28.99, an increase of 1.27 mills.
