Seymour police received 241 calls for service and made 10 arrests.
MAY 11, 2026
7:27 a.m. — Police were called to a residence on West Church Street for a medical emergency.
11:23 a.m. — A caller told police her car was keyed in the parking lot of Chatfield-LoPresti School on Skokorat Street.
12:50 p.m. — Police were called to a residence on Reservoir Manor for a medical emergency.
4:02 p.m. — Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the Klarides Village Plaza on Bank Street.
4:33 p.m. — A caller told police several youths were riding ATVs in the area of Dauria Drive and Candlelight Lane.
MAY 12, 2026
12:27 a.m. — Police conducted stop sign enforcement at Bank and Wakeley streets.
8 a.m. — Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Bungay Road. No injuries were reported.
12:50 p.m. — Police were called to the Balance Rock apartment complex for a verbal dispute.
3:47 p.m. — A caller told police a man wearing a green vest was going between houses and dancing in the road with his cell phone near Deerfield Drive and Glen Circle. Police said the man was a solicitor and had a permit.
7:18 p.m. — Police were called to Stop and Shop on Franklin Street for a shoplifting report.
MAY 13, 2026
1:11 a.m. — A caller told police people were yelling and screaming in the area of Bank and Columbus streets. An officer said the individuals had just left a party at a friend’s house and were laughing as they were headed to their cars. There were no further issues.
7:34 a.m. — A caller told police an older German shepherd with no collar was wandering in the area of Brookfield Road. The animal control officer was notified.
7:49 a.m. — Police conducted radar enforcement on Bunting Road.
4:06 p.m. — A Chestnut Street resident told police he received a suspicious package and didn’t know what to do with it.
6:36 p.m. Police charged Paul Dworkin, 39, of Bethany, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, reckless driving, violation of local parking restrictions and interfering with an officer and resisting arrest. He was arrested at Main/DeForest streets.
MAY 14, 2026
6:49 a.m. A caller told police someone appeared to be passed out behind the wheel of his car in the middle of the road near Liberty Bank on New Haven Road (Route 67).
7:56 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement for about 30 minutes on Bunting Road. No motor vehicle violations were observed.
12:56 p.m. — A Bunting Road resident reported a case of fraud to police.
6:08 p.m. — A Maple Street resident told police her window was vandalized.
8 p.m. — Police charged a 73-year-old Seymour woman with disorderly conduct.
MAY 15, 2026
11:26 a.m. — Police assisted a driver whose vehicle was disabled at Bank Street.
12:38 p.m. — Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of West and New streets.
6:25 p.m. — Police received a complaint about a woman in the road directing traffic on New Haven Road (Route 67). She was trying to help a tractor trailer truck back up on Route 8. Police said the woman was gone upon their arrival.
9:20 p.m. — Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at River and Broad streets with minor injuries reported.
MAY 16, 2026
9:44 a.m. — A caller told police there were large pieces of concrete on the the road near New Haven Road (Route 67) and North Street.
12:10 p.m. — Police responded to residence on Mountain Road for a medical emergency.
8:17 p.m. — A Squantuck Road resident told police there were two black bears on his back deck trying to get at his bird feeder.
9:30 p.m. — Police responded to a residence on Gilyard Street for a report of loud music.
MAY 17, 2026
12:15 a.m. — A Martha Street resident told police there was loud music and a bonfire causing a disturbance in the neighborhood. An officer spoke with the homeowner who turned the music down. There were no further issues.
1:50 a.m. — Police charged Keith Meehan, 60, of Shelton, with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was arrested on Bank Street.
9:02 a.m. — Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident on South Main Street.
5:49 p.m. — Police received a walk-in complaint from an individual who said he found a bone in his sandwich from Dunkin Donuts. Police advised the individual to contact the health department and to file a complaint with Dunkin Donuts and the Better Business Bureau.
8:13 p.m. — Police charged a 34-year-old New Britain man with first-degree criminal trespass, violation of a protective order, first-degree failure to appear and first-degree violation of condition of release. He was arrested on North Main Street.
