Lauren Marie Mendence, age 68, of Shelton entered into rest on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Griffin Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was the devoted wife of 45 years to Robert Dyer. Lauren was born in Norwalk, CT. on September 15, 1957, daughter of the late Robert and Marie (St. Denis) Mendence and was a Shelton resident for 39 years. She was a dedicated accountant for many years at JayStar Group. Lauren loved Jeopardy (affectionately known by her family as the “Book of Knowledge”), she enjoyed rock music, murder mysteries, and crafting. Lauren especially cherished spending time with her family playing card games and decorating the house for every holiday.
Lauren was the beloved mother of Bobby Dyer, Jr. and Kate Flynn and her husband Will, loving grandmother of Abigail and Billy Flynn. She is also survived by her 6 siblings and their spouses; Valerie (Robert) Mendence, Buddy (Jeanette) Mendence, Bobby Mendence, Dennis (Caroline) Mendence and Meg (Wendy) Mendence, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
On Wednesday, May 27th, family and friends are invited to her memorial mass at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Tpke, Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
