DERBY — A Veterans Appreciation Dinner was recently held at the Catholic War Veterans (CWV) Post 1562.
Facilitated by the auxiliary members under the direction of President Loretta Malin Budd, the meal included salad, manicotti, chicken breast with mash potatoes, and mixed vegetables.
There was cake, coffee, and tea — with the cake having the emblem of all the military branches. As an extra treat, the cake was cut by the oldest and youngest veterans which happened to be Erwin (Gus) Williams and his son, Mark Williams.
Note: the Post is always looking for Veteran and auxiliary members. Stop by after 1 p.m. for more information. The post has a handicapped accessible ramp around back. The hall is also available for rentals.
