Lucille A. Roog, age 98, of Shelton, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She is the devoted wife of 30 years to Walter Roog. Lucille was born in Shelton on March 3, 1928, daughter of the late Antonio and Lucy (Cosciello) Vollaro, and was a lifelong resident of Shelton.


She worked as a production manager at Sikorsky Aircraft for 17 years and also managed her family’s store. Lucille loved to travel and explore and she was a marvelous cook. She loved the Opera, especially Madame Butterfly, and going to The MET and the theatre in NYC.


She is survived by her brother, Robert Vollaro and his wife, Iris, and several nieces and nephews. Lucille was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and Charles Vollaro, and two sisters, Frances Raro and Lillian Raro.


Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial directly at St. Joseph Church, 50 Fairmont Place, Shelton, on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery in Derby.
