ANSONIA — Ansonia Public Schools is proud to announce that Lynn Frager has been named the 2027 Ansonia Public Schools Teacher of the Year, and Josephine Rappa has been named the 2027 Ansonia Public Schools Paraeducator of the Year.

These distinguished recognitions celebrate two exceptional individuals whose unwavering
commitment, compassion, and dedication continue to make a profound impact on the lives of students, families, and colleagues throughout the district.

“Lynn Frager and Josephine Rappa represent the very best of Ansonia Public Schools,” said Superintendent Joseph DiBacco. “Their passion, compassion, and commitment to serving students inspire all of us. We are honored to recognize their extraordinary contributions and celebrate the positive impact they make every day.”

2027 Teacher of the Year: Lynn Frager

Lynn Frager of Mead School was selected from a talented group of nominees.

Throughout her career, Lynn has exemplified excellence in education through her passion for teaching, dedication to student success, and commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Her ability to connect with students and inspire confidence has left a lasting impression on countless children and families.

When asked to share a message with parents and fellow educators, Lynn said:

“One thing I try to remember, especially during challenging moments, is that I just might be the brightest part in someone’s day, even with the smallest interaction or act of kindness. Our work is so valuable and leaves impressions in the hearts and minds of children that will last for years to come.”

2027 Paraeducator of the Year: Josephine Rappa

Josephine Rappa of Prendergast School was selected as the district’s 2027 Paraeducator of the Year from a distinguished group of nominees.

Josephine is recognized for her exceptional dedication to students, instructional expertise, and unwavering support of both staff and learners. Her ability to foster meaningful relationships and create positive learning experiences has made her an invaluable member of the Ansonia Public Schools community.

In her nomination, colleagues described Josephine as someone who “exemplifies the very best qualities of an exceptional paraprofessional.” Her commitment to helping students reach their fullest potential and her collaborative approach to supporting school communities embody the very essence of educational service.
