ANSONIA — The state Department of Transportation announced June 4 that a roughly 1 mile stretch of Route 334 will be milled and paved starting Thursday, June 11.
The road work includes a .73 stretch of state Route 334 between Wakelee Avenue and Olson Drive. Based on the DOT’s description, that’s the stretch of Route 334 called Franklin Street locally.
The work is scheduled to happen overnight between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
It’s supposed to begin June 11 and end June 16, according to the DOT. Work won’t happen on Friday or Saturday.

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 334 from Waklee Avenue to Olson Drive in Ansonia. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday – Thursday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
