Marion J. (Dojnia) Drewelus, age 89, entered eternal rest on June 2, 2026, at Complete Care at Glendale Center in Naugatuck. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Drewelus.
Born at home in Ansonia on December 19, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Edmund B. Dojnia and Mildred (Davies) Dojnia. Marion was raised in Ansonia before moving to Seymour where she resided for the past twenty years. She was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her home. Family meant everything to Marion and her greatest joy came from spending quality time with them, especially her nieces and nephews. When she wasn’t surrounded by family, she could often be found outdoors tending to the garden which brought her great happiness.
Marion leaves to cherish her memory, numerous nieces and nephews, especially Lawrence M. Dobbins, many great nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Patricia Dojnia. She was predeceased by brothers, John A. “Jack” Dojnia, Edmund “Sonny” Dojnia and Stanley “Buddy” Dojnia and sisters, Isabella G. Dobbins and Shirley Dunn.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 9:00-11:00 am, in the chapel of Spinelli-Ricciuti Funeral Home, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 11:00 am, a funeral service in celebration of Marion’s life will take place. Interment will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
