Mary Y. Cebulski, age 76, of Shelton entered into rest on Saturday, June 6, 2026 with her loving family by her side.
Mary is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert Cebulski, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage. She was born in Vermont on April 15, 1950 daughter of the late Roscoe and Alys (Boardman) Young and was a Shelton resident for 44 years. She started her career at Adams Super Food Store before working at ShopRite of Derby for many years until her retirement. She touched many lives with her bright smile and kindness, and it was nearly impossible to go anywhere without her being stopped by someone who knew her and wanted to say hello. Mary loved her garden and the flowers she nurtured there. She found peace in quiet moments with a cup of tea every evening.
She was the beloved mother of Christy (Weeks) Rivera and her husband, Ramon, and Sarah Cebulski, loving grandmother of Devin Sangster and Aryana Rivera and sister of Paul Young and Florence Thibodeau. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Susan Young, Catherine Alexander and her husband, Steve, Patricia Cebulski, brother-in-law Jim Cebulski, and many nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her brothers Homer and Richard Young, her sister Rita Knox, sister-in-law Regina Cebulski, and brother-in-law Raymond Cebulski.
Per Mary’s wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral services. The family requests memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., has been entrusted with her arrangements.
