SEYMOUR — The Seymour Public Library Welcomes CT Historian John Cilio for a Free, In-Person Presentation, “The American Revolution Through The Eyes of The People” on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 6:30 P.M. Registration is not required.
From rising tensions and political intrigue to revolution and nation-building, this presentation will trace the remarkable path to American independence. The British efforts to unite the colonies two decades earlier as well as the colonial power struggle, and the political actions and domestic issues that defined the era will all be examined. The presentation will culminate with an examination of the historic Treaty of Paris, which officially ended the conflict, followed by a look at the two constitutions created in the wake of victory and how they helped shape the future of the United States.
John Cilio is a CT historian, storyteller, member of the Organization of American Historians and a member of the Association for the Study of Connecticut History.
