SHELTON — The Plumb Memorial Library will be displaying the works of artist Olivia Stowe from July 1 – Sept. 30. The Plumb Memorial Library is located at 65 Wooster Street in Shelton.
Olivia is an illustrator and painter based in Brooklyn. She spends her non-art time putting together fundraisers, being an assistant, and running. She loves pen and ink drawings above all, with her favorite pen, Bic. Her favorite artists are Tissot, Eva Beresin, Mary Cassatt and Gabrielle Muntler. Much of her collection incorporates detailed work, yet she adores loose, textured abstract-esk paintings. She feels that art is meant to be fun; art is meant to tell a story. She gets most of her inspiration from the emotional faces of strangers sitting on the subway and yellow lights escaping windows at night.
Olivia’s artwork will be on display in the lower level Meeting Room as well as the Gallery upstairs during open hours.
