SEYMOUR – Seymour police arrested a 30-year-old man June 29 for allegedly possessing a gun with no serial number and hiding it in the woods after a domestic dispute.

Police charged Todd Allen Skeens, of Seymour, with criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, failure to obtain a serial number/other identifying mark for a firearm, along with charges of disorderly conduct, interfering with an officer, and resisting arrest.

Skeens was released on a $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on June 30. According to online court records, an order for Skeens’ re-arrest was ordered.  

According to Deputy Police Chief Michael Fappiano, police were called to a domestic dispute on Pearl Street at about 4:30 p.m.

Fappiano said Skeen fled from the home on foot when police arrived. Witnesses told police Skeen grabbed a handgun and ran into nearby woods. Fappiano said Skeen was quickly apprehended. He said the department’s canine unit was sent and located the gun. The gun had no serial number on it, police said.
