Dominick Colonese, Jr., age 89, of Derby entered into rest on Sunday June 28, 2026 in Hartford Hospital. He was born in Derby on June 21, 1937, son of the late Dominick and Irene (Bedini) Colonese and was a lifelong Derby resident.
Donny was employed at Pratt and Whitney for many years until his retirement. After retirement he worked at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home. He was an active member of St, Mary Church and the AM Club. He enjoyed his trips to the Casino.
He was predeceased by his brother Alfred Colonese. He is survived by his sister in law Diana Colonese, nieces and nephews, Michael Carrubba (Laura), Alfred Colonese, Jr., Jeff Colonese (Eileen), Greg Colonese, Paul Carrubba (Melisa), Nicole Colonese and great nieces and nephews Melissa, Jessica, Justin, Jeffrey, Kaitlyn, Gavin, Jack, Brian, Lauren, and William.
Friends may call on Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. His funeral service with military honors will follow at 12 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
