SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from July 6, 2026 through July 12, 2026.
Seymour police received 282 calls for service and made 14 arrests.
This is not a list containing all 282 calls. The Valley Indy chooses entries with the hope of giving readers an idea of calls being generated in the community.
JULY 6, 2026
10:11 a.m. Police charged a 70-year-old Southbury woman with failure to drive in the proper lane.
10:21 a.m. A public works employee reported downed wires near Pearl and Elm streets.
1:15 p.m. Police charged a 52-year-old Seymour woman with first-degree criminal trespass, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest and misuse of the emergency 911 system.
1:24 p.m. Police charged a 59-year-old Seymour man with violation of probation.
6:56 p.m. A Mountain Road resident told police a man was sitting in a chair outside and appeared to be passed out or possibly overdosed. An officer checked on the man who said he was just sitting outside in the rain.
11:54 p.m. A Marie Drive resident told police a large tree fell and was blocking part of the road.
JULY 7, 2026
10:31 a.m. A landlord told police a tenant who was just evicted broke into the apartment on Main Street and slept there overnight.
12:35 p.m. A caller told police he saw a man outside the liquor store in Klarides Village drink beer, take a shot and drive off onto New Haven Road (Route 67). An officer caught up with the man and stopped him near Fritz’ Snack Bar in Oxford and said the man did not appear to be intoxicated.
4:46 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Rimmon Road.
8:35 p.m. Police charged John Foote, 59, of Seymour, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
11:50 p.m. Police charged a 32-year-old Seymour woman with disorderly conduct.
JULY 8, 2026
4:20 a.m. Police were called to a medical emergency on Bank Street.
8:43 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Roosevelt Drive.
3:09 p.m. Police were called about a dog left in a vehicle on Bank Street. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.
4:06 p.m. Police charged a 45-year-old Oxford man with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, illegally operating a motor vehicle under suspension, failure to obey a stop sign and failure to insure a private motor vehicle.
5 p.m. Police conducted stop sign enforcement at Pearl and Pond streets.
6:20 p.m. Police charged a 43-year-old Seymour man with second-degree failure to appear.
JULY 9, 2026
7:40 a.m. Police charged a 22-year-old Waterbury woman with failure to obey a stop sign.
1:28 p.m. A resident told police he received a bonus check from a job he applied for on Indeed and said after he deposited the check, his bank account was frozen, and he was informed by the bank that the check was fake. The bank advised the man to file a complaint with police.
4:09 p.m. A Farrell Street resident told police a set of tires was stolen from his driveway overnight.
4:52 p.m. A caller told police she struck a deer with her car on Silvermine Road.
7:39 p.m. Police charged a 21-year-old Ansonia man with second-degree breach of peace.
11:13 p.m. A Chamberlin Road resident told police her brother was intoxicated, and she wanted him removed from her residence.
JULY 10, 2026
7:26 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Derby Avenue near Emery Street.
9:59 a.m. A caller told police he put down a deposit on a dog and never received the dog.
12:08 p.m. Police charged an 81-year-old Florida man with failure to obey a traffic control signal.
5:15 p.m. Police charged a 27-year-old Bridgeport man with failure to respond to an infraction.
7:54 p.m. An employee of Jimmie’s Place on Main Street told police a man was harassing customers and they wanted him removed. The man told police he was waiting for the train.
9:46 p.m. A caller told police someone was setting off fireworks in the area of Elm, Pearl and Walnut streets. Police said the fireworks subsided upon their arrival.
JULY 11, 2026
3:37 a.m. Police were called to Franklin Street for a medical emergency.
9:07 a.m. Police were called about a report of a racoon stuck in a dumpster on DeForest Street.
11 a.m. Police charged a 30-year-old Seymour woman with operating a motor vehicle while using a hand-held cell phone or other mobile electronic device.
4:14 p.m. A caller told police someone driving a white truck with a trailer was driving erratically on West Street. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.
10:06 p.m. Police charged a 31-year-old Derby woman with illegally operating a motor vehicle under suspension.
11:30 p.m. Police charged a 40-year-old Beacon Falls woman with third-degree assault.
JULY 12, 2026
8:20 a.m. Police conducted traffic enforcement at Moss Avenue and Lane Street.
8:54 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on South Main Street.
12:49 p.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Great Hill Road.
5:46 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Reservoir Manor Road for a medical emergency.
7:45 p.m. A caller told police someone was riding a dirt bike and doing wheelies in a parking lot on Franklin Street. Police said the individual was gone upon their arrival.
