Doreen Bastian, age 77, of Shelton, entered into rest on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Bridgeport Hospital. Doreen was born in Leicester, England on August 25, 1948, daughter of the late Hassan and Nayer (Karimian) Zandy.
Doreen cherished her family. She is the beloved mother of Jennifer Centopani, Shora Feidler (Steve), and the late Lela Loomis, cherished grandmother of Victoria Centopani, Gibson Ehalt, and Stowe Feidler, and great-grandmother to Elroy Jet Corbett. She also is survived by her brother, Tyrone Zandy, and sister, Shora Rainey.
Doreen found her greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending her garden, where every flower and plant reflected her patience, care, and gentle spirit. She cherished long walks, warm sunshine on her face, and spending time outdoors surrounded by nature’s beauty. Whether working in her yard or enjoying a peaceful afternoon in the sun, she found happiness in every season.
Above all, Doreen was a devoted mother whose love, kindness, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. She taught us to appreciate the beauty in everyday moments, to work hard, to care for others, and to find peace in the world around us. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will remain with us always. We will remember Doreen every time flowers bloom, the sun shines brightly, and we walk the paths she so dearly loved. Doreen will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
