OXFORD-SEYMOUR — UPDATE — First Light Energy sent a message 10:46 a.m. Monday (Aug. 3) with new flow calculations.
Here is the 10:46 a.m. message:
This is First Light Power calling to upgrade the Lower Housatonic Flood Plan to Flood Alert. River flows below Stevenson Station are expected to be between 10,000 and 14,000 cubic feet per second overnight. Please take your appropriate actions to ensure the affected public is notified.
That means there could be flooding in low-lying areas.

First Light Energy sent a message Monday (Aug. 3) updating the public on the volume of water flowing over the Stevenson Dam along the Housatonic River.
Recent rain could cause water to flow over the dam at rates of between 7,000 to 10,000 cubic feet per second.
A flow rate of 10,000 cubic feet per second could cause minor flooding in low-lying areas along the river.

The National Weather Service website has a section showing flows and predicted flows at the Stevenson Dam.
The gauge, as of 10 a.m. Monday (Aug. 3) showed the river peaking at about 9 feet, which is not a cause for concern.
