Daniel Edward Perkovich, age 86, of Shelton, peacefully entered into rest in his home on Sunday, August 2, 2026, with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband of 51 years of Linda (Hine) Perkovich. ‘Bunny’ was born in the Sewickley Borough of Allegheny County, PA on December 10, 1939, son of the late Daniel and Mary Frances (Jendrzejwski) Perkovich, and he lived in Shelton for 51 years.
He was a longtime employee of Sikorsky Aircraft where he was a Quality Assurance Inspector for many years. Daniel loved music and live entertainment. He was a strong and avid swimmer, and he loved to travel and explore. Daniel was a passionate writer, and he loved reading his morning paper.
He is the beloved father of John Leonard Petitti, Jr. and Necole Charlotte Drury and her husband Albert, the proud grandfather of Cara Miele (Zachary) and Sarah Laing, and great-grandfather of Jayden Rivera, Adrian Soto, and Lucas Miele. He is also survived by a brother, John Perkovich, two sisters, Carol Perkovich and Gloria Follansbee, and several nieces and nephews. Daniel was predeceased by a brother, Richard Perkovich.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 10 AM to 11:15 AM. His funeral procession will leave the parlor for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St. Lawrence Church in Shelton. Burial will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield.
