John Robert Turner II, age 59, of Shelton went to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at his home. He was the devoted husband of 35 years to Christine R. (Persson) Turner.

John was born in Bridgeport on July 24, 1967 son of Perpetua (Voytek) Turner and the late John Robert Turner. He grew up in Bridgeport and then Stratford before moving to Shelton where he resided most of his life. John was a Local 38 sheet metal journeyman for over 40 years. He was a longtime active parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Church, ushering Sunday mass and attending bingo every Tuesday with his mother. John talked to whoever would listen to him about faith and love. He lived a life focused on his faith, working hard and spending quality time with his family and friends. John enjoyed gardening, arranging fresh flowers and farming. He loved music, going to concerts, and dancing. Some of his famous moves were seen when he was dancing to the songs, “Brick House” and “Super Freak”. Some of his favorite times were going to the memorial day parade and other holiday events, having dinner with his family, relaxing on the beach, and writing his book. You could find him almost everyday at Shoprite or Big Y buying groceries and snacks.

He was the beloved father of Maggie, Julie, Rebecca and Johnny Turner; loving grandfather of Francis, Benjamin and David John Koskelowski; and brother of Theodore Turner and his wife Rachel, Theresa Pabis and her husband Matthew, and Thomas Turner. John was a memorable uncle to many nieces and nephews.
