Nancy Baranowski, a 75-year-old Southbury resident and former Valley resident, passed away Aug. 19. She was born Sept. 10, 1950 in Derby, daughter of the late George and Dorothy Guit Wilson.

Nancy worked as a registered nurse for CT Hospice, where she was instrumental in starting the first hospice program at Griffin Hospital.

She leaves her son Robert Carpp (Michelle Tomlin) of Oxford, her daughter Nicole Simpson (Peter Kot) of Middlebury, her sister Jayne Nunes of Southbury, with whom she resided, her longtime companion  Jeff Walsh, grandchildren Robbie & Ashley Carpp of Oxford, Gabrielle Tavino (Connor) of Wilmington, N.C., and James Simpson (Tyler) of Chicago, and her beloved dog Piper.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22nd  at  NOON at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12, before the service begins.
