ANSONIA – The Valley Indy spoke with Javier Varas, the city charter revision commission’s vice chairman and chief of staff for Mayor Frank Tyszka, about proposed charter changes affecting the city’s budget process during an interview Aug. 24.

During the conversation, we asked why city officials feel the changes are needed, and forwarded questions which had been asked by the public on social media and in previous city meetings.
The Ansonia Board of Aldermen are scheduled to hold a public hearing over the charter revision proposals 6 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 25) at the Aldermanic Chambers at city hall (253 Main St). Click here to view an agenda.
The Aldermen could vote to send the questions to the ballot at a meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. after the public hearing.
