Barbara Mary Ferruzzi Lizotte passed at Apple Hewitt Rehab Shelton on Sunday, August 23, 2026. She was the wife of 63 years to the late Adrien Gerard Lizotte, who passed in 2020. She was born July 12, 1934, in Shelton CT, the only child of Louise and Alphonso Ferruzzi. Barbara attended St. Joseph’s Grammar School and was a graduate of Shelton High School.
She worked at the former Better Packages, Shelton, was a secretary for a law firm in Ansonia, was a Librarian Assistant at Plumb Memorial Library, and retired as an aide at the former Ripton School in Shelton.
She loved entertaining her friends at her home with many dinner parties. She was an avid baker and especially loved to bake during the holidays. She cooked all the Italian traditions. Her friends and family always devoured her Pignoli cookies. Barbara was an avid shopper and loved going to the sales at the local grocery stores.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Lizotte, and her daughter, Lou-Ann Smith (John). She also leaves her Grandchildren, Gregory Dickinson (Shannon), Kayla Herlihy (Richard), Sapphire Smith (Mike), and Patrick Lizotte, and her great grandchildren, Jackson and Connor. She was predeceased by a grandchild, Ronald Dickinson.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends are invited to her Graveside Funeral Service at Riverside Cemetery, 308 River Road, Shelton, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11 AM.
