Caryn Goad, age 75, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Seabury at Pomperaug Woods in Southbury. She was the devoted wife of the late Harold Goad. Caryn was born in Queens, NY, on January 16, 1951, the daughter of the late Howard and Francis (Diamond) Kaiser, and lived in Shelton for most of her life.
She devoted many years to education, serving in the Shelton Public Schools and in Catholic schools throughout Derby, Ansonia, and Waterbury. She was also very active in St. Joseph Church community life. She loved to travel and take care of her many plants.
She is the beloved mother of George Goad and his wife,Kristen, and Edward Goad and his wife, Rachel, and the proud grandmother of Anna, Carter, Ashton, Travis, and Dylan. Caryn was predeceased by her sister, Laurie Kaiser.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 8 AM to 9:30 AM. Her procession will then leave the parlor for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church in Shelton. Burial will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
