SHELTON – The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley is excited to announce that registration is now open for the 25th Annual Commodore Hull Thanksgiving Day 5K Road Race, a beloved Valley tradition that brings together runners, walkers, families, and community supporters each Thanksgiving morning.
25 years. 1 beloved race. A community tradition supporting our youth.
The race will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2026, at the Shelton Farmers Market, 100 Canal Street E, Shelton. Participants will take on the scenic course through Shelton and Derby before returning to the finish line.
More than just a race, the Commodore Hull 5K is a major fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, helping provide safe, positive, and enriching programs and opportunities for local youth.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate 25 years of this special race,” said Jimmy Tickey, Chair of the Commodore Hull 5K. “What started as a community race has grown into a Thanksgiving tradition that brings people together year after year. We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with our biggest and best race yet. To honor 25 years, this year we are bringing back our original plankholders: those individuals who have run with us since our first race! We celebrate them for their belief in our race and the community that has been built around it.” Stay tuned for more excitement surrounding this year’s race.
Walkers, joggers, and runners of all ages are encouraged to join the celebration. Registration is now open, and participants are encouraged to register early.
