SHELTON — The Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Networking (WIN) Council invites area professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to the 6th Annual PowHERful Conversations, taking place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott in Shelton.

This year’s theme, The Power of Reinvention, explores how embracing change can unlock new opportunities, strengthen leadership, and drive lasting personal and professional impact.

More than an inspiring morning of connection, PowHERful Conversations serves as WIN’s signature annual fundraiser benefiting the WIN Entrepreneurial Microgrant Program. Since its inception in 2004, the program has awarded over $92,000 in grants and scholarships to more than 100 women-owned businesses across Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Oxford, Seymour, and Shelton—funding critical growth areas such as equipment, marketing, technology, and professional certifications.

Panel Discussion & Featured Speakers

Networking and breakfast begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by a panel discussion starting promptly at 8:45 a.m. Moderated by Sherry Konwerski, Business Advisor at the Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC) and owner of Bonus Business Services, the panel features four accomplished women who have successfully pivoted across industries and life stages:

  • Vicki Thomas — Chief Purpose Officer & Co-Founder of My Future Purpose, inspiring adults 50+ to launch meaningful new chapters in work and life.
  • Candace Freedenberg — Founder & President of Untapped Potential, who transitioned from a high-level engineering career to build an organization helping women re-enter the workforce after caregiving breaks.
  • Dani Novoli-Santos — Owner & CEO of Enviroshield, who pivoted from accounting and operations management to acquire and lead a 50-year-old environmental contracting company.
  • Dr. Koren Paul — Founder of KPaul Productions, who built a successful career as a professional voiceover artist, audiobook narrator, and consultant after retiring from a 25-year career in education.
