Emies Jamison (Steve) 80, of Derby, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026 born May 1, 1946 to Eugene Jamison and Bertha Spencer Jamison of Orangeburg, South Carolina. He worked at Farrel’s Birmingham Company in Ansonia, Connecticut as a young man and later retired from the Ansonia Housing Authority.
He was a skilled carpenter who could tackle a multitude of different jobs in a single day always making sure he had enough to enjoy life.
Emies was known for his booming laugh, his love of entertaining others and his remarkable ability to fix just about anything that was broken. He loved socializing, enjoyed hunting, and spending mornings fishing, and cherished traveling down south to spend time with family and friends. He was deeply loved by his sisters and taught his children that hard work and kindness mattered above all.
Emies leaves behind a space that can never be filled but his lessons and legacy live on through his children and grandchildren. He was an active man of deep integrity and a proud father.
He was predeceased in death by his sister Lenora Anderson and his brothers James Jamison, John Henry Jamison, Leon Jamison.
He is survived by his children, Alexis Hylton(Rodney), Tamiko Waller (Lamar) and Ashley Jamison, his grandchildren Anthony Jamison, Imani Gonzalez, Edmund and Albana Pergjoka, Jamison Synder, great grandchildren Taniya Jamison and Ivy Jamison, nieces Geraldine Jamison Evelyn Collier, Lori Thomas and his nephews, John Jr. Jamison, Darry Jamison, Linus Anderson and Santo Rhodes, many beloved nieces nephew and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19th at 10:00 a.m. from The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. before the service begins. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
