Linda Marie Gutmann, age 64, of Shelton entered into rest on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was the devoted wife of 32 years to William C. Gutmann. Linda was born in Bridgeport on March 5, 1962 daughter of the late Sam and Lucy (Ozzi) Quinto and was a Shelton resident for 32 years. After earning her associate degree from Sacred Heart University, she devoted her life working with children as a paraprofessional and pre-school teacher for many years. Linda enjoyed volunteering in her daughter’s schools and girl scout troops. She also enjoyed her day time soaps, cooking and sharing her recipes and spending time with her family. Linda most enjoyed holiday celebrations and birthday celebrations with her friends and family. She enjoyed long car rides with her girls. She had a contagious smile that would light up the room wherever she went. Linda always put others before herself. She could make every person she met laugh.
She was the beloved mother of Sam Gutmann and Allison Gutmann and her fiancee Thomas Clancey. She was also the cherished sister of Diane Quinto. Linda was the loved sister-in-law to many brothers and sisters on her husband’s side. She was also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and her beloved pets Elliot, Eddie. Linda is now reunited with her favorite dog, the late Casey.
On Wednesday, friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Thursday, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM for her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
