ANSONIA — The annual harvest festival has been rescheduled due to a forecast of heavy rain and winds this weekend.
The new festival has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m., according to a press release from the city.
Javier Varas, chief of staff for Mayor Frank Tyszka, sent a press release Sept. 24 which includes the following safety advice:
As the storm approaches, residents are encouraged to stay indoors when possible, secure outdoor items, check gutters and drains, make sure flashlights have working batteries, and keep cell phones charged. Residents are also encouraged to look out for their neighbors and follow any emergency guidance from local officials.
The city of Ansonia thanks residents for their patience, understanding, and continued support. We look forward to seeing the community come together on October 3.
