NEW HAVEN — “Kosta” Diamantis, also known as Connecticut’s “felonious fugitive fantasist,” continued his bizarre media tour by calling into the “Dateline: New Haven” radio show Thursday (Sept. 24).
A jury found Diamantis guilty last year of 21 counts of extortion, bribery, conspiracy, and making false statements.
Diamantis was director of Connecticut’s Office of School Constructions Grants and Review (OSCGR), the state agency responsible for the grant administration of all Connecticut public school construction projects seeking state funding, according to the FBI.
He took bribes and extorted contractors, the FBI said.
He was supposed to be sentenced Sept. 17 but fled to Greece instead.
