SEYMOUR — Here is the latest police blotter. There were 284 incidents between Sept. 20 and Sept. 27.

Sunday, Sept. 20

7:05 a.m. — A caller reported that a vehicle struck a car on Washington Avenue.
8:25 a.m. — A caller reported rocks in the roadway near the intersection of Maple Street and Old Ansonia Road. An officer responded and removed a piece of wood from the road.
11:38 a.m. — A caller reported that his car was struck in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Franklin Street. There were no injuries and damage was reported by police as minor.
12:15 p.m. — The department’s canine unit was at the Seymour Pumpkin Festival.
7:37 p.m. — The front tire fell off a vehicle on Pearl Street. A tow truck was contacted to help.

Monday, Sept. 21

12:41 a.m. — Officers set up a speed enforcement detail on Roosevelt Drive.
4:13 a.m. — A caller reported people walking around the front of Walgreens on Bank Street. Police responded and said they only saw a street sweeper in the lot.
6:40 a.m. — A caller reported a person passed out in a car parked at Dunkin Donuts. An officer reported the person was awake, but in need of medical attention. She was taken to Griffin Hospital.

Tuesday, Sept. 22

12:19 a.m. — Police set up a speed enforcement detail on Roosevelt Drive. No tickets were issued.
7:55 a.m. — A caller reported her vehicle broke down on West Church Street. The vehicle was pushed to the side of the road.
11:21 a.m. — A wallet found in a commercial parking lot on Roosevelt Drive was returned to its owner.
1:39 p.m. — A caller reported a minor motor vehicle crash on New Haven Road near Skokorat Street.
4:07 p.m. — A caller reported a Mazda sedan racing up and down Halsey Street near Patton Avenue. The vehicle was not in the area when police arrived.
8:20 p.m. — Ansonia police asked Seymour police to be on the lookout for a Cadillac CTS. The driver of the vehicle had allegedly caused a disturbance at a funeral in Ansonia by asking the deceased person’s family for money allegedly owed by the deceased. Vehicle was not in the area.

Wednesday, Sept. 23

2:54 p.m. — A crash was reported on Columbus Street. Caller reported a truck hit the height limit sign when pulling into a parking garage, causing the sign to fall down.
3:25 p.m. — Police received a 911 hangup call from the middle school. The school reported it was a misdial.
5:33 p.m. — Police set up a speed enforcement detail on Old Ansonia Road.

Thursday, Sept. 24

7:43 a.m. — Police spent 25 minutes monitoring traffic in the Chatfield-LoPresti School zone. One speeding ticket was issued.
8:15 a.m. — A school crossing guard at Maple and Pearl streets reported he was almost hit by a car. Three traffic citations were issued.
10:56 a.m. — A person with a drinking problem as reported by family was taken to Griffin Hospital.
2:43 p.m. — A three-car crash, with one vehicle leaving the scene, was reported in the area of South Main and Humphrey streets.
3:01 p.m. — A sick raccoon was reported on Bungay Road.

Friday, Sept. 25

5:52 a.m. — A caller in the area of Great Hill Road and Bomba’s Farm reported a tree fell and was blocking half the road. State DOT notified.
7:46 a.m. — Wires down in the area of Sachem and Mountain roads.
10:34 a.m. — A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked on Bungay Road. A patrol officer reported it was a building inspector waiting on an appointment.
5:25 p.m. — A caller reported two girls were attempting to start a fire on Spruce Street. The girls were not in the area when police arrived.
5:52 p.m. — A caller reported three men were waving BB guns around on Derby Avenue. Police responded and were told one of the parties was trying to attach a scope to the BB gun. He was advised to do that at home.
5:53 p.m. — A caller reported a tree fell on Frances Drive, causing a power failure in the area.

Saturday, Sept. 26

1:09 a.m. — A caller reported that a tree fell in the area of Buckingham and Tomlinson roads. Police reported the tree was blocking Buckingham Road and notified the Seymour Department of Public Works.
6:12 a.m. — Police investigated a report of a possible transformer explosion in the area of Squantuck and Dolan roads. A patrol officer said a tree fell into wires, causing a power outage in the area. The tree’s impact shifted the utility pole, causing it to become unstable. Eversource was contacted.
7:53 a.m. — A caller reported a tree leaning into wires in the area of Davis Road and Gary Park Drive. Police reported seeing low-hanging wires and put down cones to warn people. Frontier was notified.
8:29 a.m. — A caller reported trees on wires on Sachem Road. Police marked the lines and contacted Frontier.
8:40 a.m. — Tree into wires reported on Holbrook Road.
10:26 a.m. — Caller reported a piece of metal came loose from a building and was stuck in power lines. An officer responded and reported a gutter’s down spout broke free and was leaning into cable wires. The officer removed the spout from the wires.
4:31 p.m. — A caller from Gilyard Street reported wires down.
6:35 p.m. — A caller reported trees and wires down on Steep Hill Road.
6:43 p.m. — A caller reported wires down on Birchwood Road.
7:23 p.m. — A tree fell onto Holbrook Road.
8:15 p.m. — A tree fell on North Benham Road near Tomlinson Road.
9:13 p.m. — Another tree was reported down into wires on Holbrook Road.
10:18 p.m. — A tree fell across Squantuck Road, taking out a utility pole and guard rail. Eversource notified.

Sunday, Sept. 27

12:11 a.m. — A caller reported someone took photos of his vehicle in the area of Skyline Terrace.
5:27 a.m. — A motorist reported he drove over a power line, causing it to become entangled in his tire. Incident reported in the area of Great Hill and Botsford roads.
5:41 a.m. — A caller reported a downed tree on Rimmon Road. A patrol officer was able to drag it off the road.
6:13 a.m. — Police received a report of downed wires on Bungay Road. Eversource was notified.
7:05 a.m. — A caller reported wires down on Grand Street. The wires to his house were ripped down during the storm.
8:22 a.m. — Power lines were reported down on Oriole Lane.
8:34 a.m. — A caller said a tree was leaning into the roadway in the area of Pearl and Day streets.
8:59 a.m. — Woodbridge PD asked Seymour PD to shut Route 67 down at Cogwheel Lane and set up a detour due to large tree down in Woodbridge.
12:13 p.m. — Tree reported down on Shari Drive.
2:24 p.m. — A caller reported she drove off Maple Street and hit a fence.
2:30 p.m. — A caller from Pearl Street reported an overdose. Narcan was administered.
5:12 p.m. — A caller reported a stop sign was knocked down on Rimmon Road at Clinton Road. The department of public works was notified.
5:25 p.m. — Low-hanging wires were reported on Maple Street.
11:38 p.m. — A patrol officer removed a small tree that fell onto Cogwheel Lane.
