William B. Stowe, Sr., age 66, of Seymour peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at his home with his loving family and lifelong friends by his side. William, known as “Bill” to most, was the devoted husband of 44 years to Lisa (Lovisolo) Stowe. He was born in Bridgeport on January 16, 1960 son of the late Frederick Stowe and Helen (Delz) Stowe Teleky. Bill grew up in Newtown and Monroe and later graduated from Masuk High School in 1978. He married and moved to Derby with his wife in 1982 before building his family home in Seymour in 1992.
Bill was the beloved father of Jennifer Ferrigno and her husband, James, and William Brian Stowe, Jr. and his fiancée, Michelle Artache. He was the loving and dedicated “Pops” to his grandchildren, Logan Ferrigno and Elowyn Ferrigno. He was the brother of Robert Stowe, Daniel Stowe, and Paul Teleky. Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Donald Stowe and David Stowe. He was the lifelong best friend of Nick Vartko and his wife, Christine (Blakely) Vartko.
Bill was a lead final assembly aircraft inspector at Sikorsky Aircraft for 43 years before his retirement. He volunteered as a youth football coach and served as the Vice President of Seymour Pop Warner from 1997 to 2004. He served as a board member for the Town of Seymour Department of Public Works from 2017 until his passing. Growing up, he spent many summers in York, Maine with his best friend, Nick, and later shared his love for York Beach with his family going on to spend his adult summers there with his wife and children. He could often be found looking for ways to help his friends, family, and neighbors. Most of all, though, William cherished his family and loved nothing more than spending his days with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth St. Derby. His burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
