Donald G. Eheman, age 94, entered eternal rest on September 29, 2026, at the West Haven VA Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of seventy years to the late JaneAnn (Stapleton) Eheman.

Born in Derby on March 7, 1932, he was the son on the late Gustave and Marie Eheman. Donald was raised in Derby and a graduate of Derby High School, class of 1950. He was a self-employed building contractor and the owner and operator of Donald G. Eheman, Inc. for fifty years, until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during combat in the Korean War. Family was most important to Donald and he was happiest when spending time with them making memories. For twenty years, he and his late wife JaneAnn shared a beautiful vacation home in Chatham, Cape Cod which was a warm welcoming place with an open-door spirit. Serving for sixty-nine years, he was the longest, living member of the Webster Hose Hook and Ladder Company #3 and the oldest member of the Ansonia Fire Department. Donald was an avid fan of Notre Dame Football, always cheering on the “Irish”. His kind, loving, generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Donald leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Patricia Fragola (William) of Ansonia and Mary Barone (James Sr.) of East Haven, son, Michael Eheman Sr. (Anne) of Ansonia, grandchildren, Kelly Connors of Derby, Alexandra English (Trent) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, James Barone Jr. (Miranda) of North Haven, Taylor Corcoran (Corey) of Norwich, and Michael Eheman Jr. (Carina) of Ansonia along with seven great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, William Eheman and brother, Arthur Eheman.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital in West Haven, especially Dr. Kumar and APRN Julie. Their kind care and compassion made this journey easier.
