ANSONIA – The Derby Historical Society and the City of Ansonia will present the Spirit of ’76 Pub Crawl on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m., bringing the community together to celebrate America’s 250th birthday while highlighting the diverse dining and nightlife destinations along Ansonia’s “Restaurant Row.”
The event will feature 10 participating restaurants and bars throughout downtown Ansonia. Registered guests will receive an event T-shirt, wristband and passport map identifying every participating location and its special offer. Guests can visit each stop and collect a stamp in their passport booklet.
“This event brings together history, community and the incredible energy of downtown Ansonia,” said Kellie Santiago, executive director of the Derby Historical Society. “It is a fun way to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, support our local businesses and raise funds that will create meaningful opportunities for young people.”
All proceeds will support youth programming at the Derby Historical Society and in the City of Ansonia. The Society is located in Ansonia at the David Humphreys House, the childhood home of Revolutionary War officer and diplomat David Humphreys.
“The Spirit of ’76 Pub Crawl connects Ansonia’s Revolutionary-era heritage with the community we are building today,” said Jim Gildea, vice president of the Derby Historical Society Board of Directors. “Every registration helps us expand youth programming while introducing more people to the restaurants, history and character that make Ansonia special.”
“Ansonia has an exciting and growing restaurant scene, and this celebration gives residents and visitors a welcoming way to experience it,” said Barbara Duncan, events coordinator for the City of Ansonia. “We are grateful to the participating establishments for helping make this a lively community event with a lasting benefit for Ansonia’s youth.”
