James D Nickle Sr., 86, of Seymour, CT., husband of the late Judithann Marie Nickle, entered into eternal rest September 24, 2026.

Jim was born November 14, 1939 in Shelton, CT, son of the late Carl and Catherine (Smerznak) Nickle and brother of the late William Nickle, the late Carl Nickle and late Michael Nickle. Jim proudly served in the US Army. Jim had several jobs in his life but primarily worked as an Ink Processor for BIC Corporation.

Jim leaves his surviving daughters Mary Lisa Poehailos (Peter) and Karen Burzin (Jeffrey) and son James D. Nickle Jr. (Jennifer). Jim leaves behind granddaughters Kelly Fusselbaugh (Matthew), Sarah St. Amand (Eric), Amy Burzin, Kaitlyn Burzin, Julia Nickle, grandson Jamison Nickle, great grandsons Simon Fusselbaugh and Jude Fusselbaugh, and great granddaughter Stella St. Amand.

He was a proud champion of his family and all their successes. Jim rooted for the Chicago Cubs, New England Patriots and UConn Men and Women Basketball teams. Grampy will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Friends may call on Saturday, October 10th  from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at Jenkins-King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin Street, Ansonia, CT. The funeral procession will then leave for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Parish (St. Mary’s Church), 212 Elizabeth Street, Derby, CT at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 308 River Road, Shelton.
