ANSONIA – Police are reminding the public of resources available in the Valley, as October is domestic violence awareness month.

In a post Oct. 2, police provided the following resources to reach out to if you’re experiencing domestic violence:

The Umbrella Center provides free, confidential support to victims of domestic violence. That support includes crisis counseling, support groups, emergency safehouse and shelter options, and court assistance, according to police.

Police also shared a video created by sergeant Kathryn Devlin and officer Jenny Ribeiro about resources available to victims of domestic violence. You can watch the video at this link.

“Domestic violence can affect anyone, and no one should feel like they have to navigate it alone,” the post says.
