Huguette (Fauteux) Scalabrini age 86, a resident of Ansonia for fifty-nine years entered eternal rest on October 7, 2026, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the beloved wife of sixty-two years to Andre J. Scalabrini.

Born in East Hereford, Quebec, Canada, on September 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Gerard and Laurette (Tetrault) Fauteux. For many years, Huguette worked cleaning homes. She found great peace in keeping her own home clean and orderly creating a warm, welcoming space for her family. Family meant everything to Huguette. She treasured her large and sprawling family and possessed a rare gift for keeping everyone close. She made it her personal mission to stay connected to each and every relative. Huguette especially loved spending time with her grandchildren who were her whole heart. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed gathering everyone around her table. She will be lovingly missed.

In addition to her husband, Andre, Huguette leaves to cherish her memory, son, Daniel Scalabrini of Ansonia, daughter, Sylvie Gavaletz of Ansonia, brothers, Claude Fauteux (Celine), Hermile Fauteux (Lise), Roger Fauteux, Alain Fauteux and Gaston Fauteux all of Quebec, Canada, sisters, Rejane Fauteux, Hortence Fauteux, Lucienne Fauteux (Yvon), Diane Fauteux, Solange Fauteux, and Madeline Fauteux , all of Quebec, Canada, grandchildren, Timothy Gavaletz of Raleigh, NC and Thomas Gavaletz of Walpole, MA, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on her husband Andre’s side of the family along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Dorila Fauteux, sisters, France Fauteux and Estelle Fauteux, brother-in-law, Yvon, and sister-in-law, Carole.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 9:30-11:00 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 11:00 am a funeral service in celebration of Huguette’s life will take place in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
