Elia Maria Augusta Marino Ciampi, age 98 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Angelo Marino, died peacefully on October 18, 2026 at the Glendale Healthcare Center, Naugatuck, surrounded by her family.

Born in Montecatini, Province of Pistoia, Italy on November 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ernesto and Maria Augusta Peppolini Ciampi.  Mrs. Marino Ciampi immigrated to the U.S. in 1945 and settled in Shelton for 10 years.  In 1955, her family relocated to Derby (just prior to the great flood) and lastly moved to Ansonia in 1994.

She was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering determination and steadfast character.  Instilled in her from an early age, were the traditional values of hard work, personal responsibility and devotion to family. These principals guided her throughout her life and served as a lasting testament to the generation that raised her.  Throughout her long and dedicated career, she took great pride in every job she held.

Mrs. Marino Ciampi began her working years at the B.F. Goodrich Company, where she worked as a press operator.  She then became a materials inspector for the Hull Dye Co., and later worked as a CNC machine operator for the Peak Electronics Co.  Not one to be still or sedentary, her last position was at Burger King where she was employed until the time of her retirement in 1997.

Mrs. Marino Ciampi was a devout catholic and communicant of St. Jude Church and the Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Parish, at St. Mary Church, Derby.  She lived her life for her family, kept an immaculate household and enjoyed cooking her Italian specialties made with love from recipes passed down through generations.

Mrs. Marino Ciampi is survived by her devoted sons, Ernest Marino of Ansonia and Paul Marino and his wife, Rendall of VA; cherished grandchildren, Joanne Marino of Shelton, Michael J. Marino of Naugatuck, Meagan, Dante and Angelo Marino, all of VA; 15 cherished great-grandchildren; as well as 2 great-great grandchildren.
