BEACON FALLS – Esther L. French (Diggs) passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Griffin Hospital. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond A. French. They shared 69 wonderful years together and built a life centered on family, friendship, and countless cherished memories.
Esther is survived by her loving son, Paul French, and her daughters, Janet (Scott) Merenda, and Joanne (Chuck) Glick. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Crystal (Matt) Perachio, Michele (Nik) Murowsky, Carrie (Kyle Wade) Glick, Ryan (Jean-Marie) Glick, and Elizabeth (Amanda) Gelada-Glick; and her great-grandchildren: Anna and Jonathan Petruny, Logan and Kaitlyn Perachio, Emma and Aiden Murowsky, and Violet, Winona, and Kyle Jr. Wade.
Esther enjoyed camping trips throughout New England with Raymond and their children, as well as yearly trips to her home state of Virginia. Eventually, Esther and Raymond purchased their own camp in Maine, where they made many happy memories together. Esther worked for many years as a nurse. She remained active as a parish nurse in the Valley following her retirement as an RN. Over the years, she worked at Griffin Hospital, Seymour Public Health, and the Seymour school system.
Esther will be remembered for her love of family and friends and the joy she found in spending time with those she loved. She especially enjoyed gardening, reading, and family get-togethers. Her kindness and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026 at 1pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 10am until the time of services in the funeral home. Interment with Nurses’ Honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
