SEYMOUR: Louise A. Carey, age 78, entered eternal rest on October 22, 2026, at Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shelton.
Louise was born in Derby on November 20, 1947. She was a resident of Ansonia for most of her life. She graduated from Ansonia High School and then went on to attend the former Stone Academy. For thirty years, Louise was employed as a Librarian for the Ansonia Board of Education while simultaneously worked at the former Lifetouch Studious in Derby for fifteen years. After these two jobs, Louise went on to have a career as a receptionist for Monarch Assisted living in Southbury where she eventually retired from in 2024. For Louise, there was no greater joy then spending time with her family and being a Nana to her beloved grandchildren, who were her whole heart. She enjoyed singing and for many years was the lead singer in a band where she was adoringly referred to as “Little Louise”. She will be lovingly missed by all.
Louise leaves to cherish her memory, son, Bryan E. Carey of Walden, NY, daughter, Tracy L. Carey of Seymour, brother, Andrew Breda of Hamden, grandchildren, Taylor-Anne Carey, Nathan Petruny and Madison Petruny. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan “Nancy” Carey.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Burial will be private. To sign Louise’s guestbook or share a memory, please visit, www.spinelliricciutifh.com.
