ANSONIA – Here are some highlights from the Ansonia Police Department’s calls for service between Feb. 24, 2025 and March 2, 2025.

It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we track the court case.

Police received 330 calls for service and made 16 arrests between Feb. 24 and March 2.

Monday, Feb. 24, 2025

1:06 a.m. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Jewett Street and Platt Street. A misdemeanor summons was issued.

9:00 a.m. A caller on Platt Street reported a motor vehicle accident.

11:54 a.m. A caller on Fifth Street lodged a dog/animal complaint.

11:52 p.m. Police arrested a 41-year-old man on Richard Street and charged him with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.

Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025

10:15 a.m. A caller reported vandalism on Arch Street.

10:33 a.m. Police responded to a reported burglary on Division Street.

4:21 p.m. Police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on N. Spring Street.

4:43 p.m. Police arrested a 47-year-old man on Walkers Court and charged him with three counts of violating a protective order, plus one count of disorderly conduct.

10:38 p.m. A caller on Division Street reported suspicious activity.

Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025

11:26 a.m. Acting on a charge of failing to appear in court, police arrested a 32-year-old West Haven man on S. Cliff Street.

12:15 p.m. A caller reported theft from a motor vehicle on Howard Avenue.

3:29 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on the intersection of Maple Street and Olson Drive.

7:34 p.m. Police were called to Crescent Street, where they had arrested two people in the morning, on a report of intimidation.

11:10 p.m. Police arrested a 34-year-old New Haven man and charged him with six counts of violating probation.

Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025

8:44 a.m. A caller reported illegal parking on Elm Street.

9:30 a.m. Police arrested a 44-year-old woman on High Street and charged her with five counts of violating probation.

1:00 p.m. Police charged a 36-year-old Waterbury woman, who was previously arrested on Wednesday, with violating a protective order and violating her conditions of release.

5:30 p.m. Police arrested a 19-year-old Bridgeport woman on W. Main Street and charged her with sixth-degree larceny and resisting arrest.

10:20 p.m. On William Street, a caller lodged a report of disorderly conduct.

Friday, Feb. 28, 2025

10:39 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Wakelee Avenue.

12:45 p.m. A caller on Crescent Street lodged a dog/animal complaint.

7:51 p.m. Police responded to an alleged assault on Main Street.

11:17 p.m. Police received a report on N. State Street of a missing 13-year-old child. Two days later, police updated the public, saying the child had returned home safe.

Saturday, March 1, 2025

12:24 p.m. Police attempted to stop a motor vehicle on S. Cliff Street.

3:52 p.m. A caller reported illegal parking on N. Main Street.

7:13 p.m. A caller on Hodge Avenue reported an incident of vandalism.

11:42 p.m. Acting on a call for assistance, police responded to a suspected robbery on E. Main Street.

Sunday, March 2, 2025

3:08 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Woodbridge Avenue.

5:27 a.m. A caller on Main Street reported a stolen motor vehicle.

12:39 p.m. A caller on Root Avenue reported vandalism.

8:39 p.m. Police responded to a juvenile matter on Fern Circle.

11:40 p.m. A caller on Bridge Street reported suspicious activity. Police provided an escort.
