Elizabeth ‘’Betty’’ Mary Wascavage (Finnucan) of Piney Point, MD passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2025 at the age of 65.
Betty is survived by her loving partner Henry Dosker of Piney Point MD, her two sons, Joseph (Macon) of Easton, Maryland and Andrew (Lauren) of Charleston, South Carolina, her brothers, Jack Finnucan, Billy Finnucan, Tom Finnucan (Patty) and Kevin Finnucan all of Ansonia, Connecticut.
Two Grandsons, Wye (Joe & Macon) and Reece (Andrew and Lauren) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Katherine and Father, John, both of Ansonia, Connecticut
Betty was born on October 28, 1959, in Ansonia, Connecticut to John and Katherine. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in Education.
After graduation she moved to St. Mary’s County and began working for The Saint Mary’s County School System as a Special Education Teacher. Over the course of her 39 year career she helped impact the lives of many students and was very proud of her work.
Her children remember her as a patient, loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals in the classroom and on the field. She was very fond of attending her sons’ sports games and made many friends traveling to watch them play. She was a witty, fun loving individual who looked forward to attending her Wild Women Weekends, participating in The Light House Road Book Club and spending time on the beach.
A Funeral Mass will be scheduled at a later date.
