ANSONIA – A take-out restaurant specializing in Colombian cuisine plans to open on Bridge Street soon.
According to a statement of use on file at city hall, a restaurant called Un Encanto Colombiano will move into 51 Bridge St. The restaurant plans to offer take-out only Latin food “with an emphasis on traditional flavors,” according to that statement of use.
The Valley Indy reached out to Carlos Valencia Galvan, the listed owner, via email and phone but did not receive a response.
Un Encanto Colombiano plans to have hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. It will employ three people, with parking at the public parking lot on West Main Street.
Un Encanto Colombiano’s neighbors include ChicoFranco’s Lounge & Cafe and J R B’s Family Restaurant. It is also the former site of Empanadas restaurant. That restaurant went out of business in 2023, according to state business records.
“Coming soon” signs and Colombian flags currently decorate the exterior of the building, but no opening date had been announced as of Sept. 4.
